But　if　it　were　true　that　virtue　were　for　ever　extinguished　upon　the　earth；　in　

what　way　would　the　loss　of　it　affect　my　happiness；　since　it　did　not　depend　

on　　　me　　　whether　　　it　　　existed　　　or　　　perished？
