Donnithorne　passed；　under　an　avenue　of　limes　and　beeches。　It　was　

a　still　afternoon—the　golden　light　was　lingering　　languidly　　among　

the　　　　upper　　　　boughs；　　　　only　　　glancing　　　　　down　　　　　here　　　and　　　　there　　　on　　　the
